R T Steels

R T Steels has its home at 1-24-66 on Kandulavari Street in Tarapet. It is a bit of an old building, but it serves us well for storing and moving the heavy stuff we deal with. Kandulavari Street can be quite narrow, especially when the delivery trucks are trying to squeeze through, but we make it work. Inside, it’s mostly rows of stock and a small corner where we keep the paperwork. We don't have fancy air conditioning or a lobby with magazines. It is just a workspace where the phone rings and we pull the orders together. Most of our day is spent checking the inventory and talking to the drivers. Tarapet is a busy commercial area, so there is always something going on outside our door. We’ve known the guys in the neighboring shops for a long time. We don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People just know where we are if they need steel. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty, and the ledgers are a bit worn at the edges, but that is just how a real business looks. We don't try to act bigger than we are. It’s just a small team of us handling the daily load. We open up early, stay until the work is finished, and lock the gate for the night. It is a basic, no-nonsense way of doing things here on the street.
