P V Rao General Stores

This general store is right in the middle of the Vijayawada bus stand area. It is a very loud and crowded place most of the time. P V Rao started this shop years ago to serve the travelers and the local people working around the station. We sell a bit of everything, from notebooks to toiletries and snacks. The shelves are packed pretty tight because the space isn't very big. You can hear the conductors shouting destinations all day long. It gets very humid here in Vijayawada, so we always have the fan running behind the counter. We do not use fancy displays or lights. Everything is just laid out so people can find it quickly. Many regular customers come by every morning for their daily needs. We talk to the regulars about the news or just the weather. Sometimes the stock arrives late because of the traffic in the city, but we manage. The counter is getting a bit old and the paint is peeling in some corners. It does not bother anyone though. People just want their stuff and a bit of a chat. It is a busy life here at the bus stand. We see thousands of people every day, most of them just passing through to somewhere else. We stay open late because the buses never really stop running. It is just how things are in this part of town for us.
