Oswal General Store

Oswal General Store is sitting at Door No 1-41-65 on Kandulavari Street in Vijayawada. This street is one of those narrow ones where you have to be careful when a rickshaw comes through. We have been at this 520001 address for many years. Our store is filled with all the daily essentials that people in the neighborhood look for. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to stack the boxes quite high. It's a bit of a maze inside sometimes, especially when a new shipment of goods arrives on Monday mornings. We know most of the people around Kandulavari Street because we see them every day for their milk or eggs. The walls of the shop have been painted many times but the heat always makes them look a bit dull. We have a small radio that plays local news while we work. The counter is made of dark wood and has some scratches from years of use. It is a very normal, local business. We don't try to be anything else. We just open up, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer to arrive. When it rains, the water splashes up from the street, so we have to move some of the displays back. It is just part of life here in One Town.
