Dhana Lakshmi General Stores

We are located at D.No:24-29-214/5, right on the B.R.T.S Road area near Eluru Road. It is a very busy part of Vijayawada, and the dust from the main road always finds its way inside the shop. I spend at least an hour every morning just wiping down the counters and the plastic chairs. We are near Gulabi Thota Chivara, so we get a lot of people passing through on their way to other parts of the city. Dhana Lakshmi General Stores is not a fancy supermarket, just a place where you can get your daily needs without any fuss. I keep the pulses in big open bags and the oils are stacked in the corner. Sometimes the power goes out, and I have to find the flashlight to serve the customers, which can be a bit of a mess. My nephew helps me out on the weekends when he is not in school. We talk to the local delivery guys and the rickshaw drivers who stop for a cold soda. The concrete floor stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. I usually keep a few extra bags of flour in the back because people always seem to run out at the same time. The day goes by fast when you are busy measuring out portions and counting change. By the time I lock up the doors at night, I am tired, but I like knowing I’ll be back here tomorrow.
