Bujji General Stores

If you walk down toward the Kotta Ammavari Temple in the Prizerpet area of Chitti Nagar, you will find our little shop at Door No 5-7-13. Bujji General Stores has been a part of this street for a long while. It’s a corner where people often stop after visiting the temple to pick up a few things they forgot for the kitchen. We keep the usual stuff—soaps, toothpaste, matchboxes, and snacks for the kids. The building itself is old, but it stays cool inside even when the Vijayawada heat gets bad in the summer. We have a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. My family helps out with the inventory, making sure the jars are filled with biscuits and candies. It’s not a supermarket where you wander around with a cart. You just stand at the front and ask for what you want, and we get it for you from the back shelves. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the road when they bring the crates, which causes a bit of noise, but that is just how things go here. We know most of our customers by their names and what they usually buy on Tuesday mornings. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too complicated about it. We just try to keep the staples in stock so nobody has to walk too far. The door squeaks a little when you push it, but we haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
