Bharath Lakshmi General Stores

Bharath Lakshmi General Stores is situated in New R R Pet in Vijayawada. This is an older part of town, and our shop has that same feel to it. We carry the usual things like pulses, oils, cleaning supplies, and some snacks for the kids. The neighborhood is full of people who have lived here for decades, so we see the same customers over and over. Sometimes they come in just to chat for a bit while they pick out their vegetables or groceries. We have old-style metal shutters that we pull up every morning at the crack of dawn. Inside, the light is a bit dim, but we have enough lamps to see the labels on the jars. We spend our afternoons sitting on the wooden bench behind the counter, waiting for the evening rush. It is a slow pace of life during the middle of the day when the sun is high and the street is quiet. We keep a ledger for some of the regulars who pay at the end of the month. It is a system built on knowing people for a long time. There are always boxes of soap or stacks of buckets that need to be put away. We don't have a website or any of those modern things, just the physical shop where you can come and touch the goods before you buy them. It is just a local store for local people.
