Asst Engineer

My name is Md. Zameer, and I work as the Asst Engineer in Mylavaram. Our location is a bit unique because we are right there on Nuzvid Road, care of the Atk Cooldrink Shop. It’s actually a great landmark because everyone knows where the shop is, especially when it’s hot outside and people need a cold drink. The office is right in that same spot. Krishna district can get incredibly hot, so being near a place that sells cold drinks is a bit of a blessing. The road outside is always busy with buses and tractors moving between the villages. Inside, the office is pretty simple. I’ve got my desk, a few chairs for when people come to talk about local engineering issues, and plenty of files. We deal with a lot of paperwork regarding the local area and the mandal. It’s a bit dusty because of the road, but we manage to keep the documents clean enough. People often pop their heads in to ask questions while they are at the cooldrink shop. It’s a very informal way of working, but it works for us. We don't have any big corporate mission or anything like that. We just show up, look at the plans, and try to make sure everything is built or fixed the way it should be. It’s a local life, and we are part of the community here in Mylavaram. The days go by fast when there’s a lot of work to do.
