Yahweh Home For Old Age And Children Welfare Foundation

We are over here in Vellore, right on Kothanda Pillai Street near the DKM College road. It’s a busy part of Sainathapuram. The foundation was set up because we saw a lot of old people with nowhere to go and kids who needed a bit of extra help. It’s a bit of a crowded house most days. You can hear the children playing in the back while the older folks sit on the porch and talk about things from years ago. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a regular building where we try to manage everything. Sometimes the fans don't work right and we have to get someone in to fix them. People from the neighborhood stop by sometimes to drop off things or just to say hello. It gets hot in the afternoons, so everyone slows down a bit. We spend a lot of time just organizing the daily meals and making sure everyone has what they need. It isn't always easy to keep up with the repairs on an old place like this, but we get by. We’ve been at this for a while now and the locals know where to find us. If you walk down the road from the college, you’ll see our gate. It’s not much to look at from the outside, but it keeps us busy from morning until late at night. There is always someone needing something, and we just do our part.
