Vishal Traders

Our shop is Vishal Traders and you can find us on Big Sowrastra Street in Walajapet. It’s a narrow street but it stays crowded with shoppers and bikes all day. We have a lot of stuff packed into this space, sometimes so much that it's hard to find a place to sit down. The walls are lined with shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We mostly just deal with the daily flow of people asking for this or that. Most of our mornings are spent moving boxes around to make room for new deliveries. It’s a bit chaotic at times, but we have our own system for finding where everything is. The lighting in the back is a bit dim, but we know the layout by heart anyway. Walajapet is a good place to be, even if it gets a bit noisy with the market nearby. We’ve had the same neighbors for a long time, so we often share a cup of tea in the afternoons. We aren't trying to be the biggest or most modern shop on the block. We just provide what people are looking for and keep things honest. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by. Other days we don't even have time to eat lunch until late. It's a typical trader's life, and we're used to it by now.
