Vellore Frozen Foods

If you go to 29/7 in Gandhi Nagar, Katpadi, you will find Vellore Frozen Foods. It is quite cold inside our place because of all the freezers we have running day and night. We spend a lot of time wearing heavy jackets even when it is boiling hot outside in Vellore. It is a bit of a funny way to work, but you get used to the chill after a while. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, but we have our trucks coming in and out at odd hours. We do not have a big staff, just a few local guys who know how to handle the frozen stock. Everything has to be moved quickly so it does not melt in the heat. It is a lot of lifting and stacking in the dark. We do not really have a showroom or a place for people to hang out. It is just a workspace. Sometimes the power goes out and we all have to scramble to get the generators going. That is the most stressful part of the job here. Katpadi is a busy hub, so getting things delivered can be a bit of a headache with the traffic. We just try to stay organized and keep the machines humming. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we do. We have been at this address for several years now and the locals know us.
