Site Engineer

I've been working as a site engineer for a while now, based out of Plot No: 94/A on Jameelabad 3rd Street. Melvisharam is where I spend most of my time, right here in the Vellore district. My day usually starts early because there is always something to check on at the site. It’s a busy area, and the weather gets pretty hot in this part of Tamil Nadu, so I try to get moving before the sun is directly overhead. Zakir Sameeullah is the name people know me by around here. I don’t have a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where I keep my plans and tools. Jameelabad 3rd Street is a familiar place to me, and I’ve seen it change over the years as more houses go up. Being a site engineer means I’m usually covered in a bit of dust by the end of the shift. I spend my hours looking at levels, making sure the guys on the ground have what they need, and checking that the drawings match what’s actually being built. It’s not a desk job where you sit in the AC all day. I deal with the reality of bricks, cement, and the local laborers every single day. Sometimes things go slow, sometimes they go fast, but that’s just how construction works in Vellore. I’ve lived and worked around here for a long time now.
