Civil Engineer

My name is Vinayagam and I work out of Thorapadi in Vellore. You can find me in Kamaraj Nagar. It’s a quiet area, and I like being tucked away from the main city buzz. Tamil Nadu summers are really something else, so I try to get my outdoor work done as early as possible. I’ve been an engineer for many years now. I don’t have a shiny office with air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a practical space where I can focus on my drawings. People in Vellore are hardworking, and I try to be the same. I don’t use a lot of technical jargon when I talk to my clients. I just explain things simply. If a beam needs to be thicker, I tell them why. I’ve seen a lot of houses built in this neighborhood. Some I worked on, others I just watched. I take pride in making sure things are done according to the rules. It saves a lot of trouble later on. My office has a lot of old books on engineering that I still refer to sometimes. The digital stuff is fine, but the basics haven’t changed. I’m just a local guy doing my job. I’m usually around the office or at a nearby site if you need me. It’s a steady life and I’m happy with it. The work is tough but honest.
