Map Somasundara Nadar & Bros Dhall Mill

Our mill, Map Somasundara Nadar & Bros Dhall Mill, is located at 59, Nallan Pattarai Big Street. We are in the Kosapet area, which is a very old part of the city. The streets here are narrow and always full of people and carts. We have been running this mill for many years, and it has stayed in the family the whole time. The building itself is quite old, with thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. We process dhall using methods we’ve used for a long time. It is a very traditional way of doing things. You can hear the heavy machinery thumping throughout the day. People in Kosapet know our name because we’ve been on this street forever. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. Customers just come straight to the mill to pick up their orders. Sometimes the big street gets so crowded that it is hard for our delivery vans to get through. We just have to be patient. It’s a family business, so you’ll usually find one of the brothers around to talk to. We handle all the paperwork ourselves on old wooden desks. It is not a modern corporate environment, but it works for us. We take pride in the fact that we are still here after so many years while the city around us has changed so much. It is just our way of life.
