Express Computers

Up on the first floor of J. S. Complex on VIT Road, you'll find our computer shop. We’re in Old Katpadi, which is a busy part of town with students and workers always passing by. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, and it can get warm in the afternoons. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of monitors, opened-up CPU towers, and tangled wires everywhere. We spend a lot of time staring at screens or trying to find a specific screw that fell on the floor. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. The complex is always humming with activity from the other shops nearby. We handle a lot of repairs and setups every day. Sometimes a laptop comes in that’s seen better days, and we do what we can with it. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. You usually just walk in and talk to whoever isn't holding a soldering tool at the moment. Being near the university road means we see a lot of people in a hurry. We just try to keep up with the work coming in. It’s a small space, but it fits what we need for fixing things. The noise from the traffic downstairs filters in, but it’s just background noise to us now. We stay pretty busy with the tech stuff every day and don't worry about much else.
