Our place is at No. 108 in Ram Rahim Nagar, which is over in Vasai East. It is an industrial area, so there is always a lot of noise and trucks moving around the narrow lanes. We have been here for a while now, just doing our daily tasks. It’s a simple setup with a few desks and some storage space in the back. We handle different kinds of logistics and general work depending on what comes in during the week. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all walk or take a rickshaw to get in every morning. We don't have a big corporate structure or fancy titles. If something needs to be done, whoever is free just does it. The morning usually starts with checking the manifest and seeing what needs to be moved or organized. It’s a lot of paperwork and talking to drivers on their phones. Sometimes the dust from the road gets into everything, so we spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is steady. We know the other business owners in the lane, so we often share a tea or help each other out when a truck gets stuck. It’s just a normal part of the Vasai industrial belt and we are okay with that.
