If you are looking for Avishkar Technology, you have to go into the Khan Estate over in Waliv. We are located in the Parag Compound at B-5, and the best way to find the turn is to look for the lane opposite the Fiza Hotel. This part of Vasai East is very industrial, so there are a lot of workshops and small factories all around us at Golani Naka. The sounds of metal hitting metal and the smell of cutting oil are just part of the everyday environment here. Our unit is not huge, but we have managed to fit all our tech equipment and tools into the space. We spend a lot of time bent over our machines or looking at screens. The floor is often covered in bits of wire and metal shavings that we sweep up at the end of every shift. It gets very loud in the compound when all the neighboring businesses are working at the same time. We usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise of the fans and the drills. The Palghar sun can be really strong, so the roof of our unit gets quite hot in the middle of the day. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just some calendars on the wall and a few cupboards for our gear. It is a tough, practical place to work and we like the grit of it.
