About Hem Exports – Agriculture & Farming in Varies
Hem Exports is based out of Baisahab Ki Haweli in the Shahbazar area. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though it’s definitely showing its age these days. Working out of a haweli is different than a modern office; the walls are thick and the layout is a bit confusing to people visiting for the first time. We use the lower rooms for storage and the upper ones for doing the paperwork and keeping the samples. Shahbazar is a lively place with lots of small shops and people walking around. We mostly focus on sending stuff abroad, which means we spend a lot of time on the phone or packing boxes with tape. It’s a lot of small details to keep track of, and sometimes we get behind when a shipment is delayed. The stairs are narrow, so moving heavy crates can be a real chore. We don't have any corporate slogans or a mission statement. We just want to get the products packed correctly and sent off to the port. My uncle started this many years ago, and we’ve just kept it going the same way. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for the kind of stuff we do. We like the history of the place, even if the roof leaks occasionally.
