Vatsalya Children Hospital

Vatsalya Children Hospital is located in Orderly Bazar, which is always a hive of activity. We are situated right near the Mahaveer Mandir, so it is a landmark that everyone in the neighborhood knows well. Being a hospital for kids, our days are filled with a lot of different sounds. You hear babies crying and older children playing with the few toys we keep in the corner. The building is a bit older and has that typical hospital smell that you can't really get rid of. We have a small staff who have been working together for a long time. It can get quite crowded in the waiting area, especially during the monsoon season when everyone seems to be getting sick at the same time. We don't have any high-tech gadgets or a polished reception desk. It is just a practical place where we see families from all over the Orderly Bazar area. Sometimes the cows from the street wander near the entrance and we have to shoo them away. We spend a lot of time talking to parents and trying to make the kids feel a little less scared about being at the doctor. It is a lot of hard work and the shifts are long, but this is just what we do here in this part of town.
