About TBJP SILKS PRIVATE LIMITED – Textile in Varanasi
Varanasi is famous for silk, and TBJP Silks is our small part of that history. We are tucked away in Ambalikapuri Colony, specifically at Hanumant Kripa C 33/294-3 in the Sigra area. It’s a bit of a maze getting back here sometimes if you don't know the Chhittupur neighborhood. We’ve got our setup here where we handle all sorts of silk pieces. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, even if the paperwork says private limited. My relatives and I spend our time checking threads and looking at looms. The air in the workshop always smells a bit like raw silk and old wood. We don’t put on airs or try to act like a big fashion house. We’re just local people who know how silk should feel. Some of the patterns we work on are things we’ve seen since we were kids. Sigra is a busy part of town, so there’s always something happening outside. Inside, it’s mostly just us working. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. We just have stacks of fabric and people who know their jobs. It’s quiet work, mostly. We take it one day at a time, making sure the orders for the local shops get filled. If you come by, you’ll probably find us sitting around a table drinking tea and discussing the next batch of silk. It is just how things go for us here in Varanasi.
