Sudha Institute Of Environment And Technology is located right in Bachhawn, which is a bit of a quiet spot here in Varanasi. If you’re coming from the main city, it takes a little while, but it's peaceful once you get here. We’ve been operating out of this building for some time now, focusing on technical subjects and environmental stuff because that's what our name says. It isn't a huge campus with glass walls or anything like that. It's just a solid place where people come to study and get their work done. We have a few labs and the classrooms are basic but they do the job. Most of the staff here are locals or they’ve moved to Bachhaon to be closer to the institute. The daily routine is pretty standard. We open up early, the students trickle in from the surrounding areas, and we get through the lectures. Sometimes the power cuts out, which is just how things are in this part of Varanasi, but we have some backup. We don't try to be anything we're not. It's just about teaching the courses and helping the kids understand the technical bits. We spend a lot of time on practical things because just reading books doesn't really help in the real world. It’s a lot of work keeping everything running, but we like the pace here. People know us in the neighborhood, and that’s enough for us. It gets quite humid in the summer, so we keep the fans going.
