If you walk through the lanes of Varanasi near the Gyanvapi area, you might come across us at C. K. 28/ 12. That’s where Silko Internationaal is based. It is a very old part of the city, and the streets are quite narrow, so you have to walk or take a cycle. We have been dealing with silk and fabrics in this spot for quite a while. The building itself is old, like most things around here, but it serves us well for storing and showing our textiles. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a few people who know silk really well. The atmosphere around Gyanvapi is always a bit intense and lively, which we’ve grown to love over the years. We don't really do much in the way of big sales pitches. Usually, we just pull out the rolls of fabric and let the material speak for itself. You can feel the quality when you touch it. Sometimes the power goes out, or it gets a bit crowded with tourists nearby, but we just keep doing our thing. It’s a traditional way of doing business, face to face, where a handshake still means something. We have customers who have been coming to this specific address for years because they know what to expect from us. It’s not just a business for us; it’s part of the neighborhood’s daily life and we take pride in that.
