Shambhu Gernal And Provision Store is right across from Ananta Colony in the Raja Bazar area of Nadesar. Varanasi is a place where things move at their own pace. Our shop is where people from the colony come when they realize they ran out of oil or salt in the middle of cooking. We keep a variety of pulses, grains, and some basic cleaning supplies. The location is quite convenient for those living nearby. We aren't a large establishment, just a regular provision store with shelves lining the walls. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the road traffic outside, so we spend time cleaning the counters. We don't have any big signs or advertisements. People know us because we have been here in Nadesar for quite a while. Mornings are usually the busiest when the milk crates arrive. We have to sort through them quickly before the rush starts. The shop is a bit cramped, and we often have to squeeze past each other to reach the back storage. It’s just an honest way to make a living. We see the same faces every day, which is nice.
