Sangharsh Textile Weaver Producer Company is located in Gram and Post Shivrampur. This is in the Varanasi area, but it is more of a rural setting than the city center. It is not like being in the middle of all the noise and traffic. Here, life is a bit slower. We are a producer company, so we are owned by the weavers who do the actual work on the looms. Shivrampur is a small place where everyone knows everyone else. Our workspace is right there in the village. It is a very practical and humble setup. We have the looms set up where there is enough light and fresh air. We handle the textiles from the start to the finish. It is a lot of hard work and sometimes the pay isn't great, but we keep at it because it’s what we know. The name Sangharsh means struggle, and honestly, that is what it feels like sometimes to keep a small weaving business going. We don't have any big offices or corporate people. We just look at the orders and see how much we can get done in a week. The weather affects our work a lot, especially when the humidity gets high. We just try to support the local families who have been weaving for many generations. It is a very traditional way of doing things. We don't use much fancy technology. It is just the skill of the hands and the wooden looms.
