Sanacity Collection Private Limited is tucked away in Rasool Pura, Varanasi. The address is J 21/83-A-K, but finding us in these narrow lanes can be a bit of a challenge if you aren't from around here. Varanasi is a place where every corner has some kind of work going on, and our little spot is no different. We deal with collections of different items, mostly fabrics and things that this city is known for. It’s a small operation. The rooms are filled with stacks of cloth and the smell of the city. We don’t have an air-conditioned office or fancy furniture. It’s just some wooden shelves and a couple of stools. My brother and I handle most of the stuff, from talking to the weavers to packing the bundles for shipping. Some days the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but we keep at it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India. We just want to do right by the people we buy from and the people who buy from us. It’s about building those connections over years. We write our receipts by hand and keep a close eye on everything that comes in. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it’s the way we’ve always done it here in Rasool Pura. We’re just regular people working in a very old city. It's not a flashy business, but it's ours and we know every inch of it. That's about it, really.
