Pink Chic

Pink Chic is located in Kamla Nagar, Sigra, right behind the Sigra Police Station. It’s a convenient spot in Varanasi because everyone knows where the station is. We have a small space on the ground floor. Despite the name, we aren't some high-end boutique. We just wanted a name that sounded a bit different. The shop is mostly used by women from the nearby houses in Kamla Nagar. We do basic things like eyebrow threading, waxing, and hair trims. We have a couple of chairs and a small curtained area in the back for more private work. The walls are decorated with some old pictures from magazines. We use a small electric heater in the winter because the stone floor gets very cold. In the summer, the ceiling fan has to stay on its highest setting all day to keep us from sweating. We spend a lot of our time tidying up the towels and cleaning the combs after every use. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the police station gets busy or there is a festival nearby. We don't have any big advertisements. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing the door open when they walk past. It’s a simple, honest little parlour and we like it that way. We keep our prices low enough so that our neighbors can come in whenever they need.
