If you are looking for Holy Weaves, you have to head over to the Indian Press Colony in Maldahiya and find the Kashi Anathalaya Building. We are up on the first floor in room 109. It’s an older building, so the stairs have that worn-down look where thousands of people have walked over the years. Inside, it’s mostly about the fabrics. There’s always stuff piled up, different colors and textures everywhere you look. It isn't a showroom like you see in the big malls; it’s more of a workspace where things actually get done. The light comes in through the windows facing the colony, and you can hear the sounds of the street down below. Sometimes it’s a bit messy with threads and scraps on the floor, but that is just part of the job when you are dealing with weaving and cloth all day. We spend a lot of time just moving things around or checking the quality of what comes in. The people who work here have been around textiles for a long time, so we don't talk much, we just get to it. It’s a busy part of the city, but once you get up to the first floor, it feels a little bit more tucked away from the main traffic. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the work we do and the stacks of weaves waiting to go out to whoever needs them.
