Ladies Corner & Kids Wear

Our shop, Ladies Corner & Kids Wear, is on Dashashwamedh Road in Varanasi. If you’ve ever been to the ghats, you probably walked past us. It’s a very old part of the city and it stays busy from sunrise to way past sunset. We have a small space, but we pack it full of things. It’s often a bit of a squeeze when more than three people are inside. We don’t have fancy lighting or air conditioning. Just a couple of tube lights and a ceiling fan that clicks. We’ve been running this place for years. Most of our customers are locals who live in the narrow lanes nearby, though we get plenty of tourists too. We don't do any internet marketing. People just see the sign and come in. It’s a simple life. We spend our days folding clothes and chatting with the neighbors. Sometimes the cows block the road outside, but that’s just Varanasi. We don't have a big staff, just family members taking turns. We aren't looking to expand or become a big chain. We just like being here on Dashashwamedh Road and being part of the daily rhythm of the city. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Every morning we start by cleaning the front step and getting the inventory ready for the day. That's about it for us. We are just here.
