About Krishna Garments – Fashion & Trends in Varanasi
If you know Luxa Road, you know how busy it gets. We are right opposite the Sindhi Dharamshala, which helps people find us. The shop is called Krishna Garments, though some people call it Kanhaiya because of the sign. It’s at D47/187, a spot we’ve been in for a good while. The front of the shop is usually covered with hanging clothes to show what we have in stock. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with all the boxes. We don’t have much room for a proper office, so the desk is just tucked into a corner behind the main counter. The air conditioner is old and rattles a lot, so we mostly use the ceiling fans. We get a lot of people stopping by who are staying at the Dharamshala or just passing through the area. Every Friday we try to reorganize the stock, but it usually gets messy again by Saturday afternoon. The street noise is constant—horns, people shouting, the usual stuff. Sometimes we sit outside on a plastic chair when the shop is empty just to watch the traffic go by. We carry mostly traditional wear and some casual things. It’s a lot of work keeping track of sizes and colors, but we do what we can. It’s just us here, working through the day and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs something. We just try to keep things moving along and deal with whatever happens.
