KASHI KALA BUNKAR ASSOCIATION

Our association is tucked away in Hans Nagar Colony, right over in the Taktapur area near Orderly Bazar. It’s a busy part of the city, and our plot at number 27 is usually full of people coming and going. We started this because the weavers in Kashi needed a way to organize. It’s not a fancy corporate setup. It’s more of a place where people meet to discuss the latest problems with yarn prices or how to get their goods to market. The office at S 24/3 is pretty basic—just some desks, chairs, and a lot of registers. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting through long meetings that go on longer than they probably should. There’s always tea being served and someone complaining about the weather. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to help the local bunkars get a fair shake. The work is mostly paperwork and coordination. It gets chaotic during the festival seasons when everyone is busy. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but we’re still here. People know where to find us if they need help with their weaving business. We don't have a website that works half the time, but we’re always here in person. It’s just how we do things in this part of town, keeping it simple and looking out for each other.
