Our office is located in the Naria area of Varanasi, specifically at B33/64-22 in Kaushlesh Nagar. Kakun Organic Agro-Food Private Limited is just a small business trying to navigate the busy streets of this ancient city. Varanasi is always loud and full of life, and our neighborhood is no different. There’s always someone calling out or a motorbike zooming past. We work with agro-food products, so our space is often filled with the smell of different grains and goods. It’s not a sterile environment. It’s a working space. We have some old desks and a lot of shelves. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers and checking the quality of what comes in. We don't have a big staff, so everyone does a bit of everything. One minute I’m on the phone, the next I’m helping move some boxes. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just want to provide good food products and keep the business running. Sometimes the narrow lanes of Varanasi make it hard for trucks to reach us, so we have to get creative with how we move things. It’s a bit chaotic but it’s our daily life. We’ve been here in Kaushlesh Nagar for a while and we know all the tea stalls nearby. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing.
