K K Men

K K Men is located on Mahaveer Road in the Orderly Bazar area. We are quite close to Vashika Hospital, so we get people visiting from there sometimes. The shop is a straightforward place for men to get a haircut or a shave. We have three chairs and they are usually full on Sunday mornings. The floor is made of grey stone and we keep a big broom in the corner. We don't have any music playing, just the sound of the street and the fans. Our tools are kept on a glass shelf under the mirrors. We have a small basin for washing faces after a shave. The lighting is just a couple of long tube lights on the ceiling. It’s not a fancy parlor, just a place where you can get your hair done quickly and properly. Varanasi can be very humid, so we keep the door open to let the air circulate. We have a small wooden desk where we keep the daily accounts. Some of our customers have been coming to Mahaveer Road for years. They know us and we know how they like their hair cut. It’s a steady routine for us. We start our day by cleaning the mirrors and setting out the towels. There’s nothing complicated about what we do. It’s just a regular shop serving the local people in Orderly Bazar. We don’t have fancy signs, just a simple board outside that says K K Men.
