We are tucked away at A 35/56 in Jalalipura. This area is full of life and very narrow streets where you have to watch your step. Siha Fashion is basically a hive of activity with sewing machines running and people cutting fabric. There are rolls of cloth in every color you can think of stacked against the walls. Threads end up all over the floor, no matter how much we sweep. It is a very hands-on place where we are always measuring something or checking the stitching on a garment. The light in the workshop is bright so we can see the details, but it gets quite warm when all the machines are running at once. We don't have a showroom with mannequins or fancy lights. People just come in and see the work being done right there on the tables. We usually have some music playing softly in the background to keep the mood light while we work. The neighborhood is full of families and other small workshops, so there is a real sense of being part of a community here. We know the people who live next door and the kids who play in the alleyway. It’s a simple, honest business where we focus on the fabric and the fit. Sometimes we have a snack break together and talk about the local news before getting back to the machines for the afternoon.
