International Carpet Centre

Our center is located out in Khammaria. If you are looking for the post office, we are right there in that area. It is a bit different from the big city shops because life moves a little slower here. We focus on carpets, and since we are in Khammaria, we are close to where a lot of the actual weaving happens. The building is pretty simple, just a place to store the finished rugs and talk to the people who make them. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we are always dusting off the piles. There are no big signs or bright lights here. It is just a workspace where we manage the orders. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit muddy, which can slow things down for the trucks. We sit around the small table in the front to discuss the day's work. Most of our day is spent checking the knots and the colors of the new pieces coming in. It is hard work and keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. We do not have a lot of fancy furniture, just the carpets themselves and some old wooden chairs. People in the village know us well. We have been part of this community for years. It is not a complicated business, just moving carpets from the looms to the buyers. We keep our records in a thick notebook. It is how we have always done it and it works for us.
