About India Silk Traders – Fashion & Trends in Varanasi
We've been at 6/17 Orderly Bazaar for a good while now. It's a busy spot, and we spend most of our days here with the rolls of silk. People come in from all over the neighborhood. The shop isn't fancy, just a regular place where we keep our stock and talk to whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with all the material laying around. We handle a lot of different silk fabrics. It's mostly about making sure things are sorted and ready when someone asks for a specific color or weight. My family has been doing this kind of work for years. We know which threads are which just by touching them. The light in the bazaar can be a bit tricky in the evenings, but we manage fine. Most of our time is spent checking the weaves and packing things up for people to take home. It's a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bundles and measuring out meters on the old wooden counter. We don't really have a big team, just a few of us making sure the shelves stay full. If you walk down the main lane, you'll find us easily enough near the corner. It's just a simple setup where we focus on the fabric and getting through the daily tasks. Nothing too complicated about it. We just keep the doors open and get on with the business of silk. It’s mostly about the routine here.
