Gupta General Store

Gupta General Store has been around in Sikroul for a good while now. We are right here in the Sahupuri area of Varanasi. Usually, I open up the shop pretty early in the morning because people need to get their milk and bread before they head off to work. It gets quite dusty outside on the street sometimes, but that is just how things are in this part of the city. My family helps me out behind the counter when things get really busy in the evenings. We keep all the basic stuff in stock, like flour, cooking oils, and some snacks for the kids who stop by after school lets out. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the delivery truck is running late, but mostly the shelves are kept full. I know most of the people around here by their names since we have been here so long. It is a small place, not like one of those big fancy supermarkets you see in the mall. We just keep the lights on and try to have what the neighbors need for their kitchens. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a torch for a bit to see the scales. The address is easy to find if you are wandering around Sahupuri. It is not anything fancy, just a regular shop with wooden counters and bags of rice sitting on the floor. Most days are pretty much the same.
