We are located at 14 A Kashiraj Apartment in Kamachha, right in the heart of Varanasi. If you know the area, you know how crowded those streets can get, especially during festivals. Dalan Builders Private Limited operates out of this apartment space, and it usually feels quite cramped with all the registers and architectural drawings laying around. Being in Varanasi means we have to work around a lot of old structures and very narrow lanes where you can barely fit a truck. It’s a challenge, but it is home for us. We spend a lot of our time coordinating with labor and trying to get materials delivered on time, which is never as easy as it sounds. The tea guy downstairs knows us well because we order rounds of chai every few hours to keep going. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation; we just like to see new buildings go up in our own city. Most of our staff have been here for years, so we all know how each other works. There is no dress code or anything, just whoever is available to handle the site visits or the billing. It’s messy and loud sometimes, and the electricity cuts out occasionally, but we just keep at it. We take our work seriously but we don’t feel the need to dress it up in fancy words.
