Varanasi is a busy place to work. Maheshpur Industrial Estate is where our main warehouse is located. We started D2K Pharmaceuticals a while back and it's been a lot of work since then. Mostly we deal with logistics and keeping track of the medicine batches that come through. The roads around the estate get really crowded in the morning with all the trucks. We spend a lot of our time checking labels and making sure the boxes are stacked right on the pallets. There isn't much flair here, just rows of shelves and a lot of paperwork. My desk is usually covered in invoices and delivery notes. Sometimes the power flickers during the monsoon, but we manage to keep things moving. People think the pharma business is all lab coats and clean rooms, but for us, it's mostly moving heavy crates and updating spreadsheets. We've got a small team and most of us live nearby. It’s hard work keeping everything organized with the heat and the dust from the industrial area. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that for visitors. Just the office and the storage space. It gets noisy when the trucks pull in for loading. We try to get the orders out before the evening traffic hits the main Varanasi roads. Every day is pretty much the same routine for us. We check the inventory and talk to the suppliers. It's a living.
