Amrapali Threds

Amrapali Threds is tucked away at Shop No. 92 in Khadavghat. If you can find the Badi Masjid or the Janta Tea stall, then you are basically right there. We are just behind the tea place. Our shop is full of all kinds of threads and stitching supplies. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to keep so many colors and types in stock. People from the neighborhood come in looking for specific matches for their fabrics. We spend a lot of time helping them find the right shade. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the big factories. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and we know most of the tailors around here. Sometimes the shop gets a bit messy with all the bobbins and samples lying around. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything, just the shop door that’s usually open. It’s a family thing, and we just like being part of the Khadavghat market. You can hear the calls to prayer from the Masjid while we work. We don’t do much advertising; people just know we are behind Janta Tea. It’s a simple business of selling thread. We just try to have what the customers are looking for. Every day is about the same, just talking to people and tidying up the shelves when it’s slow.
