Vijay Engineers & Contractors

Located over in the IVth Phase of GIDC, you can find us at Shed No. 6129/5. It’s an L-type shed, which gives us a bit of a weird layout, but we’ve made it work over the years. At Vijay Engineers & Contractors, we’re mostly surrounded by other workshops and small factories. It’s a noisy neighborhood. You can hear welding sparks and grinding wheels from three sheds away. Our space is filled with tools, blueprints, and pieces of equipment that we use for various contracting jobs. The walls are a bit stained from years of work, and the concrete floor has its share of cracks. We don't really have a reception area. If someone comes by, they usually just walk right into the middle of whatever we’re doing. We spend a lot of time out at different sites, so the shed is often just a place to store things and prep for the next project. There’s a small cupboard in the corner where we keep our hard hats and boots. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the back door, but we just put a bucket under it and keep going. We don’t worry about things being perfect. We just want to get the engineering right and finish the jobs we started. It’s hard work, and by the end of the week, everyone is pretty tired, but we come back on Monday and start it all over again.
