About Ganapathi Store – Food & Beverages in Vaniyambadi
At number 85 on Thiruparkadal Road in Kaveripakkam, you’ll find Ganapathi Store. It’s a small shop, tucked in among the houses and other little buildings. We mostly sell the basics that people need for their kitchens and homes. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much as possible onto the wooden shelves. We have bags of rice stacked in the corner and jars of spices lined up behind the counter. It’s a family-run place, so there’s usually one of us sitting on the stool waiting for someone to walk in. The street outside isn't too busy, but you get the occasional cow or tractor passing by. We open up pretty early, right when the sun comes up, and we stay open until it’s dark. Sometimes the neighborhood kids come in with a few coins for some sweets, and we have to help them count it out. We don’t have any fancy displays or bright lights, just a single bulb hanging from the ceiling. It’s a quiet spot, and we like it that way. We’ve known some of our customers since they were little children, and now they bring their own kids in. There is always a bit of dust in the corners no matter how much we sweep, but that’s just how it goes in an old building like this one. It’s just a simple life here in Kaveripakkam. It’s been this way for a long time and we don’t expect it to change much.
