Architects Nook

Our spot is on the second floor of Tirupati Towers, right there on Silvassa Road in Vapi. Being near National Highway 8 means there is a constant hum of trucks and cars passing by, which you just get used to after a week. The office, room 201, is where we do all our thinking and drawing. It’s not a huge space, but it fits our desks and the large printer we use for blueprints. Gujarat gets hot, so the fan is usually running at full speed. We spend a lot of time looking at site plans and talking to builders about why things aren't lining up. It’s practical work. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we’d rather have better equipment. Usually, there is a stack of half-finished coffee cups near the computers. People come in from the highway or from around town to discuss their building ideas. We try to be straight with them about what can and cannot be done. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes we have to head out to the sites, so the office stays locked for a few hours. We’ve been in this building for some time now and know most of the people in the other units. It’s a hardworking environment. We just focus on getting the drawings right and making sure the measurements are accurate before anything gets built. That's the daily grind here.
