Shree Jalaram Ice Co.

You can find Shree Jalaram Ice Co. over in the Lic Sector of the GIDC in Vapi. We are at Plot No. 352, specifically in the C-1/b/47 section. Being an ice company in a place like Vapi means we are always busy, especially when the weather gets hot. The plant is a bit cold inside, obviously, which is a nice change from the heat outside. We have big blocks of ice and smaller crushed bits depending on what people need. It’s a noisy operation with the compressors running all the time. We’ve been here at this plot for quite a while. The area is mostly industrial, so we have a lot of trucks coming in to pick up loads for the local markets and factories. It’s not a fancy office at all. Most of the time we are out on the loading floor or checking the machines. We wear heavy boots because the floor stays wet and cold. My family has been running this, and we just keep it going. We don't have a mission statement or anything. We just make sure the ice is ready and the trucks are loaded. Sometimes the power goes out, and that’s a real headache, but we manage. It’s just a regular local business providing ice to whoever needs it around here. We open early and stay late during the summer months. There is always a puddle near the entrance, so you have to watch your step when you visit us.
