Hindustan Pencils Pvt. Ltd. is located at Plot No. 217/1 in the Gidc. It’s a place that smells like wood shavings and graphite most of the time. We have a lot of history at this address. The building has seen a lot of years, and you can tell by the way the floor is worn down in certain spots where people walk the most. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or expensive office furniture. We put everything into the machines and the materials we use. Our days are pretty repetitive, but there is a certain rhythm to it that feels right. We arrive, we check the machines, and we start the production. It’s a lot of work to keep everything running smoothly. The Gidc area is always humming with activity, and we are right in the middle of it at Plot 217/1. We have workers who have been here since they were young, and now they are the ones teaching the new kids. It’s not a corporate environment with a bunch of meetings. We mostly just talk over the noise of the factory or during the tea breaks. We are just a pencil company doing what we do best. If you ever come by, you’ll see we are just regular people working hard. There are no frills here, just a lot of pencils and the people who make them, year after year, without much fuss.
