Our place is located at Plot No. J / 758 / 1 in the 40 Shed Area of GIDC Vapi. It’s right in the heart of the industrial zone. We’ve been making and selling paints here for a long time. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell—it’s that heavy, chemical scent of fresh paint and solvent. You get used to it after five minutes, but visitors always mention it. The floors are a disaster, covered in drips of every color from blue to bright yellow. We don’t bother cleaning them too much because they just get messy again the next day. We have big vats for mixing and rows of tins stacked up against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. Aarkay Paints isn't one of those big corporate offices with air conditioning and glass walls. We have a small cabin for the paperwork, but most of the time is spent out on the floor. Our clothes usually have a few spots of paint on them too. It’s a hard industry, especially with the competition, but we just keep doing our thing. The 396 195 pincode area is busy, so there are always trucks loading up at our dock. We take our lunch under the shade of the tree outside when it’s too hot in the shed. It’s just how we live and work, focusing on the buckets and the colors.
