Skatnet India operates out of House No 149 in the village of Afajalpur Dhobghati, near Hajipur in the Vaishali district. It is a very quiet area compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. Our office is basically a couple of rooms inside a family house. We handle all sorts of networking and internet-related tasks from here. To get to us, you have to walk down some narrow village paths where you’ll see cows grazing and kids playing in the dirt. It doesn't look like the kind of place where a tech company would be, but we have everything we need right here. We spend a lot of our time checking connections and making sure everything is running smoothly for our clients. The internet is our lifeline, so we have a few different backups in case one goes down. In the evenings, you can hear the sounds of the village settling down, which is a nice change from the constant honking of cars in Patna. We aren't wearing suits or trying to look like big executives. We are just local people who happen to know a lot about technology. Sometimes the neighbors come by to ask for help with their phones, and we don't mind helping out. It’s a small, tight-knit operation and we feel lucky to be able to work from our own village instead of moving away.
