Our shop is number 2, located in the Raopura area of Vadodara, specifically Shiyapura. This is an older part of the city where the streets are often narrow and crowded. Having been here for a while, we have gotten to know the guys at the tea stall next door quite well. The space is essentially one large room with some partitions we put up ourselves. Despite the name on the door, it isn't the most modern-looking place you'll see. We use old wooden benches alongside a few newer plastic chairs. On high speed, the ceiling fan wobbles a bit, but it helps keep the air moving. Most of our days are spent right here. Occasionally the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit and wait for it to return. It is a very local spot. No fancy decorations hang on the walls, just a few calendars and a clock that runs five minutes fast. People passing by often peek in to see what is happening. Because of the road outside, things get dusty rather quickly. We sweep the floor every morning, but the dust always finds its way back in. Life in Raopura is always busy and moving. Keeping things simple and focusing on the people who walk in is what we do. There is a lot of history in these streets. It is just a regular workplace. The wooden door sticks when it rains. We often hear the neighbor’s radio playing old songs through the thin walls.
