Shyamsunder Medical

Shyamsunder Medical is situated right near the Lakdi Pool in the Dandia Bazar area. This part of town has a lot of history and the streets are often crowded with people and scooters. Our shop is one of those places that has been around for a bit, and you can tell by the way the wooden cabinets look. They have a bit of wear on them, but they hold a lot of stock. Being near the bridge means we get a lot of foot traffic. The air always smells a bit like the street food from the stalls nearby. Inside the shop, it’s much quieter. We have a heavy counter where we rest the heavy medicine bottles while we talk to customers. Dandia Bazar is a place where people still like to stop and chat for a few minutes about the weather or the local news. We don't rush anyone. I spend a lot of time double-checking the expiry dates on the strips to make sure everything is good. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we have to use a torch to find things on the back shelves until the backup kicks in. It’s just part of running a business in this part of the city. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us working the shifts. We keep it simple and try to be helpful to the folks who live around the bridge. We just take it one day at a time here.
