Shree Gajanand Provison Store

Over in Padra Naroda, you’ll find Shree Gajanand Provison Store. It’s a small place tucked away, and we mostly serve the families living right around here. We carry all the daily essentials like dal, spices, soap, and cooking oil. The store isn’t very big, so we have to use every bit of wall space for shelving. It can get a little dark in the back where we keep the extra sacks of grain. I usually start the day by sweeping the front step and getting the weighing scale ready. We don’t have a computerized system; most things are still written down in a notebook or calculated on a small handheld calculator. It’s a very local feel here. People come in not just to buy stuff, but to complain about the heat or talk about what’s happening in the neighborhood. We know who likes which brand of tea and who prefers their rice a certain way. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the narrow road and we have to help them navigate. It’s just the two of us running things, so if one is busy, the other handles the customers. We don't have any big sales or promotions, just fair prices for the folks who live nearby. It’s a quiet way to earn a living, and we’ve gotten used to the slow pace of the afternoons followed by the rush when the sun goes down. It’s just how we run things around here every single day without fail.
