Baroda Rizis Farm

It is always a bit chaotic near Fatehgunj Mangal Bazar. We have been running Baroda Rizis Farm here in Vadodara for quite a while now. Most days start before the sun is even up, because that is when the work needs to happen. The farm isn't some big industrial place. It's just us and the land. Sometimes the tractor acts up and we spend half the morning trying to get it to start again. The dirt gets everywhere, in your shoes and under your fingernails, but you get used to it after a few years. People from the city come by sometimes, looking surprised that there is still a farm so close to the busy market area. We grow a few different things depending on what the season is like. Last year the rain was heavy and it messed with some of the rows, but we managed. The shed over by the north side needs some new roofing sheets before the next monsoon hits. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team telling us what to say. It is just a place where we work hard and hope for the best. Usually, by five o’clock, we are pretty tired and ready to sit down for some tea. It is a quiet kind of life despite the noise from the bazar nearby. We just keep our heads down and do the chores every single day until the sun sets.
