Sanket Engineering Works

Our spot at Plot No.748/6/15 in Makarpura is where we spend most of our lives. Sanket Engineering Works isn’t a place with a big sign or a fancy lobby. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We’ve got machines that have been running for twenty years and some that are a bit newer, but they all need constant attention. The GIDC estate is always crowded, and finding a place to park a truck near our unit is a nightmare most mornings. We spend a lot of time just moving things around to make space for the next job. I remember when we first moved in, the floor was clean and the walls were white. Now, everything has a thin layer of oil on it, and there are stacks of metal scraps everywhere. We keep a small stove in the back to make tea because nobody wants to walk all the way to the main road every time they need a break. It’s a small team here, just me and a few others. We don’t have much time for meetings; we just get to work. The paperwork is always a mess on my desk, but I know where everything is. People come to us because they know we’ve been in this specific plot for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. The days are long and the work is heavy, but we like it that way and we just keep going day by day.
